Anybody here Ham?

I take my exam in like 3 weeks for Ham technician. It's the lowest of the 3 levels basically beginners. I've always wanted to, but it's also a great tool for SHTF. Gotta have comms, and you can get a hand held Baofeng radio for like $50 these days. My brother and I can talk even though he is 10 miles away.

I love my am radio.  I've always been fascinated by the ham radio community.  We got a fella in our neighborhood that I think it into it because he has a huge antenna  in his ya d that's almost bigger than his house.  He's got his ham station on his license plate too.  It's something I think i could get into in the next few years as commitments and projects decrease.  Please update on how your progress goes!!

Over the year I have worked at a couple places that were tick with HAMs, both employees and customers.

HAMs love their equipment and love other HAMs. If you are a HAM and you need or advice or assistance or anything, your fellow HAMs will be happy to help. They are a frugal group.
