GB casserole isn't that bad but it's usually the weakest part of Thanksgiving.. rarely a second helping.

Doing the deep fry turkey again. Our Thanksgiving meal is undergoing a wrinkle this year. My granddaughter, who is still breastfeeding, cannot tolerate any cows milk, even indirectly. That put my daughter on a nondairy diet. So no real butter or my usual buttermilk brine soak for the bird. We're having to check out the vegan section at the grocery store for alternatives.

Was planning on using the oiless fryers for this reason.   Plus you can season the meat and skin

Traditional bake here. Fresh bird, plenty of moisture.

I was out voted. The wife ordered a pre-cooked meal from a local grocery store. I plan to be drunk by 10:30 am

Don't waste money on peanut oil. The generic stuff works fine for $42 for a 35 lb container. That'll do a turkey and a breast this week, and I'll use it over Christmas for at least that again.
I bought one of the oil less infrared heat cookers one year. About had a revolution. By popular vote we went back to the fryer and sold the oilless one.

A bird injected with the Tony Chachere cajun butter mix, given a slight dry rub, then deep fried in peanut oil is legit a very fine meal.

But while the bird fresh from the oil is delish, I have found any leftover fried turkey to taste like asshole.

So eat all you can while it's hot then don't bother with leftovers.

We're good for about a day or so with bird leftovers.  But after that, any leftovers if any, go into a stock pot along with the bones/carcass and various spices, carrots, celery, onions and the like, and the whole thing gets cooked down into stock.  That gets strained and goes in the freezer for some good meals later on.
