On a whim, I recently bought a Ruger Mark lV Target that I plan on using as a backup to my Benelli MP90s. I figured it was a good idea on the chance that the Benelli will need a part or two somewhere down the line. While the Benelli is still being made, it's no longer imported to the US. I can get parts from Europe but it will take some time. The Ruger was cheap at $457 out the door. The trigger is surprisingly good for stock (about 3.25#) but I ordered a Volquartsen kit to get it down to 2. Should be bullseye worthy soon. Btw, my first target pistol was a Mark II. The difference between stripping these is night and day. Push one button and it comes apart. Easiest gun I've ever disassembled.

If anyone is still here, the Volquartsen Competition kit was an awesome upgrade. The trigger is great. I also bought a Vortex Defender XL for the low, low price of $199. Putting together a nice bullseye pistol for less than a grand.
Some of the guys at the club that have the same gun have also added Volquartsen triggers. One guy bought a complete Volquartsen upgraded mark 4 new.

I actually started out with a Ruger Mark II many years ago. It was fine but the Benelli was better from the start. I don't think I did the Volquartsen upgrades back then, though. Regardless, I really like the feel of the new Ruger. I'd have no problem using it if the Benelli has a part issue.
Final upgrade for the Ruger Mark lV . Volquartsen laminate grips.
