RE: Augie Ammo Journey etc... - Augie91 - 03-02-2021 Augie like.....do other states do this?! What are the good and bad of a law like this?! DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - A new Republican-sponsored bill in the Iowa statehouse would let Iowans buy or carry firearms without obtaining a permit. Supporters of the bill say it would remove the need for Iowans to get “a permission slip” to exercise their right to keep and bear arms. https://www.kcrg.com/2021/03/02/new-bill-would-allow-iowans-to-buy-carry-firearms-without-a-permit/ RE: Augie Ammo Journey etc... - garyNconcord - 03-02-2021 Ruger customer service story-good one Subscribing to the line of thought that the best caliber for self-defense is the one you have with you, I bought an LCPII in .380 from Ruger about 5 years ago. Nice and small, carries easy in my front pocket in the little holster that came with it. Couple of months after I bought it, I started getting stovepiping every other magazine. A call to Ruger, shipped it to them and I was back in business after replacing the barrel which includes the loading ramp. No charge. About a month ago, I started seeing the same thing, with it jamming on a spent cartridge. Different magazines, and polishing the ramp didn't do anything. This was after however many rounds-I averaged 1-2 x a month at the range, where I'd put a 50 round box through it (Ah, the good old days). So another call to Ruger; about 2 days later, I got an authorization number and shipping label emailed to me. Packed it up, and FedEx'ed it up the road to Mayodan, NC. Per FedEx it was dropped off on a Friday afternoon. By the following Monday evening, I got another FedEx email that they were notified to do a pick up. Two days later, I had a functioning gun back in my hand with a note from Ruger saying barrel and extractor were replaced. Only cost to me was driving to FedEx. Ruger does excellent customer service. RE: Augie Ammo Journey etc... - Augie91 - 03-02-2021 If I can ever find any .380 ammo I'm going to shoot one of those Rugers! I love hearing customer service stories like that!! RE: Augie Ammo Journey etc... - Gusso - 03-03-2021 I have 2 in .380 - Ruger LCP and a CZ 83. The Ruger is very convenient to carry in my front pocket but the CZ is so nice to shoot. Pretty pistol, too. I still have about 1000 rounds or so left of that caliber. The trigger pull is a bit heavy for my taste, but it is a nice little pocket gun. RE: Augie Ammo Journey etc... - Buzzie mcnugget - 03-10-2021 I scored 2 boxes of 22lr. Felt like I found gold. I did a count and I am down to 35,000 rounds of .22lr. RE: Augie Ammo Journey etc... - Augie91 - 04-18-2021 Found some 380 acp and some 357 Magnum yesterday online. Can't remember last time I purchased ammo!! Based on this thread, my last purchase was at end of December. First purchase of 2021 woohoo! |
