RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Augie91 - 03-19-2022 Basically just smoked fish, cream cheese, Worcestershire, and a few spices. Pretty simple. It is surprisingly good. Our family eats a bunch whenever we go to beach!!! That and trigger fish are our go to eats. RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Trub Lou - 03-19-2022 *tuna of the land RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Augie91 - 03-20-2022 Chicken of the Sea. Never understood that. Do tuna and chicken breast taste at all alike?! RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Augie91 - 03-21-2022 Gave the smoked tuna spread recipe a go today. I used smaller amount of whipped cream cheese and 1/2 the amount of liquid smoke. Ate on a club type cracker. Turned out pretty good. Not exactly like what I had at the beach, but pretty close. My wife and daughters will be the true measure of how it turned out. Last time we were at the beach, I made a smoked tuna spread grilled cheese and a trigger fish grilled cheese that were pretty popular. RE: Canned Tuna. I think the key is it is Yellowfin, but most importantly it is packed in olive oil. The water packed stuff is dry to me, and it is albacore which for some reason is pricey. We've ate a ton of smoked tuna dip in Floribamas, I'm excited to try the recipe which is healthier. I picked up a couple cans of this from my Wally yesterday. Ya'll know there is a Cracka shortage? You won't find any saltines these days. Wheat shortage. RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Augie91 - 03-22-2022 I've noticed that there's been a bit of a run on the pasta and crackers lately. Apparently, Ukraine and Russia grow a third of the worlds wheat. Time to buy spaghetti for the bunker?! The more I eat of that tuna the more I like it. I need to see if Costco has any left. RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Mexas Joe - 03-23-2022 I have an assload of 'spag, shellz, and lasagna noodles on hand. RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Augie91 - 03-29-2022 Here's the recipe I've settled on so far: 1 can Genova Yellowfin tuna drained. 1/3 cup whipped cream cheese 1 TBL mayo?! 1 1/2 tsp liquid smoke 1/2 tsp garlic powder dash old bay or tony C's or slap you mama seasoning or couple shakes of chipotle Cholula I really like this spread on wasa crackers or club crackers! RE: Canned Tuna. My Friend! - Augie91 - 02-05-2023 Costco has the canned Portofino Yellowfin Tuna on sale. I picked some up and it is excellent quality! https://www.facebook.com/100063728375773/posts/633146935486247/?flite=scwspnss |
