Hydroplane, apparently I own (owned??) one. - Buzzie mcnugget - 05-29-2022

My c6 is has perhaps seen its last trip down my driveway.
Wifey despite being warned that it was not safe to go full speed on the highway with standing water on the road, decided to test the theory.

She is fine.

The car? Well the estimator said to me, there is nothing under the car thats not in need of replacement.
I'm hoping they total it. I will never trust this car at ludicrous speed again.
Unfortunately I doubt I can find an equivalent machine.
I know it is just a car. I am crazy saddened by its loss.
Ripping it around these old country roads, well just made me smile no matter how shitty my day was.

I am ashamed to tell this because compared to " real " problems people face, this is a nothing burger. But  yet I'm depressed over the loss of a beautiful loud fast childhood dream.

We have a van that a groundhog ate the wiring harness on.  It's been sitting for almost a month cause the parts are on critical backorder.   My insurance paid for a rental, but I tomorrow we have to return it.  Luckily July is a slow month and we are gonna try and swing it with 2 cars.

Feel your pain....

Fortunately we have other cars and USAA will keep us in the rental till they get my car back to me.
Honestly we drive very little, being out here you make your trips count.

The repair shop has abandoned trying to find a radiator core support. None in the US.
Awaiting the call from USAA.
FECK.

We got our Odyssey back today. Our mechanic located a harness on a Honda Pilot at a junk yard. He cut out the section the groundhog destroyed and spliced in the same section from the pilot. New wiring harness are still on backorder so this was the best option. He works on all our cars and would not have went this route if he was not confident in doing it. He sealed it all up with a liquid tape and electrical tape to keep everything dry and clean. Ideally a new harness would be best, but not in Biden America.
