I didn’t realize it wasn’t a regular menu item. I actually like the idea of it, but their execution manages to be bland. I sometimes grill up sausage patties and put pickles and onions on them with a little commercial sauce, like SWB or Famous Dave’s devil’s spit. The “home” version is actually pretty good.

I only had a McRib once ( probably back in the 80's) and it was oddly good.
I haven't had McDonald's in about 20 years until the last four weeks or so -- I'm always needing something for mom's lunch ( nugget kid's meal) when I'm busy at work and I've been getting the Fish-Fil-O... two for $6! BTW, their fries are absolutely awful. Thin and hardly any potato inside. They are passable when hot but within 8 minutes or so they are hard and gross. Worst fries in town as far as I can tell... best is Jack's.

The Kwik Star faux McRibs are better and cost less than $2 imho.

Wendy’s (when not wadded), Five Guys, that kind of thing. Freddys are okay if you eat them within 30 seconds and don’t think of them as fries, though.

+1 on Freddie's... but like you said, they expire quickly.
When I hit the drive-thru a Freddie's I eat in the parking lot so the fries are still good.. |
