I will say this about the quasi-lockdown

I have gone through WAY more K-cups than I ever thought possible, but have probably saved a total of about $400 on coffee purchases at the little Charbucks kiosk in my office building.

I can count the number of times I have paid for nasty Charbucks on a single hand.

Wife and I have saved a ton by not eating and boozing out.

I have enjoyed their frou frou drinks on occasion ( twice I think) but their regular coffee sucks balls... it's like they don't mean for you to drink it black.

If I'm outside the building, I go get better coffee.  But short of accepting the even more nasty well coffee in our office, the Starbucks is the only thing that I can be out and back with in under 10 minutes.  Yeah, it's not great, but it's what's available.

But yeah, the bigger savings is coming from not going out to lunch.  But the time you have a beer or two, it's a $25-$30 meal.  Beers are only maybe twice a week, but other days are still $15-$20 after tip, so having a ham sammich at the homestead is probably saving me on the order of $500 a month, plus whatever gas I'm not burning.

I'm kind of the opposite - the frou frou stuff makes me gag from sweetness, but they have two varieties of coffee that aren't appalling if they make them strong enough - the Verona and the Pike's Place.  Not as good as what I can roast, obviously, but drinkable for warmth and passing the time.

At home, we just have Pete's pods for the Keurig during the week, and I have some Sumatra and Guatemalan green beans that I alternate with for weekend enjoyment. My roaster is a one-batch job, so it's a bit of a commitment and more than I take on during the week.

Man, take a close look at the insides of Keurigs .
I've seen some nasty build up in them.

I never should've sold all my Amazon stock back in the day.
