No. A small fragment of the Eucharist (Host) has as much Jesus as the whole bowl. I'm really just Catholic joking when I claim that I'm getting more. It makes me feel good, but just cause I'm a glutton.
A couple weeks ago they allowed cantor's to sing at our Church, but none of the congregation. Something about too much spit aerosols, even though everybody has masks on. Today we had the bell choir, and we have strings, but no wind instruments cause of all the obvious spit generation. It really is CRAZY IMHO opinion. I just keep my head down and my glasses are so fogged up I can't really see much anyhow. But it is good to be in Church versus streaming. We are about 50/50 on attending Mass in person versus streaming right now.
I've been drinking too much during Covid too..

I never quit the day job at the insurance company. They keep promoting me, which is nice ($$$$$), and now I see critical race theory training coming down the pipe. I'm not super excited about having to choose between integrity and a paycheck. I guess that's what happens when the parent company is based in California.
Seed sales quadrupled when covid hit. Profit margin doubled. We've paid off every last bit of our debt in one year. Business value went from zero to seven figures overnight. I don't think it's going to stay there, I think it's driven by the lockdowns. But someone wants to buy it from us now and gamble on the future. I can't work two jobs anymore, and the wife is too sick to keep up this pace. We close probably tomorrow. I can't wait to sign before these people change their minds.
We're committed to helping the new owners through this busy season, which is going to suck. After that, it's convincing the wife not to start another business, traveling, hiking, fixing up the house and the grounds, and general fucking around. Right now we're $40,000 in orders behind in shipping. Just having that go away would be a huge weight lifted.

During covid, I've started keeping a keg of my favorite local beer on tap. Yeah, I think the "covid 19" is a real thing. Just started hitting the elliptical again on a daily basis last week.

Awesome news, you're_mom. Hope you get what you want out of it. Your day job's issues aren't just because it's california based, I'm afraid. This wokester stuff is out of control. Our company just hired a Chief Diversity Officer. That's right - a C-suite salary for a kumbaya position with the pretext that hiring the right skin tones is as important for a technology company as, you know, technology.

My company has four main business units. They make up 50%, 30%, 10%, and 10%, of the total revenues. The 50% has sucked ass for 10 years. 30% is ok. 10% and 10% have been kicking ass. I'm a leader in one of the 10%s. And I'm freaking taking credit for it.
What bugs the shit out of me is that we're more concerned about CRT and diversity than we are about getting the 50% back on track. I keep hearing "get woke, go broke", and goddamn if I don't see it play out first hand every frickin day. If it didn't impact my bonus so much I might not care, but these assholes drag me down with them. My boss offered that she and I go lead the 50% to get it back on track. Nope, gotta keep the tradition of mediocrity alive.

Wow... that is bullshit.
I am seeing a lot of the wokeness at my job too. I am wondering at what point does my 401K leverage an early 'flounce' from that future.

Waste less time reading garbage on the internet.
Like others here get closer to my faith and involved with church, mentoring a bit and jumping on some mission opportunities.
Dump most of my worldly goods and crap from 30 years and sell this house while the market is saying I can get 2.5 times what I paid for it, drop most of the business keeping the stuff I can do from where ever and buy a sailboat to wander around on for a few years before I’m too old.
Pondering spending a few months in a marine technology program to get a few certifications in my back pocket if I want to actually make a few bucks.
Find a nation to retire in that isn’t a complete bonfire of liberal hypocrites who want to burn a guy at the stake if he dares to disagree.
Semi retiring at 50 courtesy of a lack of give a damn and a silly little investment in crypto in its infancy.

Covid's definitely had a progressively negative impact on productivity. I expect many of us feel the same way, but man peoples' rising needs and decreasing availability (emotional and physical) has been grinding me down. Work is still going well, but that was all setup in the early days of the pandemic. Writing has slowed down as free time evaporates. Hell, anything i try to do for fun just feels forced.
My goals are the same as always, just harder to achieve.
