Tire quandary
#1
So I've been itching to get to Florida.
Last weekend wifey and booked a 1 way flight down.
The plan was fly in Sunday afternoon (30th) , hang out with kids and friends for a couple days and drive the old 94 up here to KY.
The front tires are 6 + years old, the back are 6.

Not really any tread loss to speak of at all. Just old.

No worries right? Order new ones have them shipped to st Petersburg and installed while there.

Nope.  Backordered indefinitely.

I can get some mystery meat fronts for a buck thirty a tire, nothing available to fit the rears.
(She wears big shoes)

I think I am just going risk it.

Thoughts?

By risk it, I mean just drive it up on the old rubber.
Taking 2 days to do so. 6 hours broken up each day.

I'd risk it.

If you've got a full size spare that would fit either front or back for a few hundred miles, I say go for it.

Keep a couple of cans of fix-a-flat handy.

You can never carry too much ammo, unless you are swimming or on fire.

Pump them up to 90 psi for that 'and-away-we-go' feeling!

No spare, weight reduction.

No visible dryrot I assume?

I say you should be ok if you keep the speed down. Kinda would hesitate not having a spare tho.
