Wife and I are probably about 10 years out from retirement. For us that means finding a place close to the beach. We LOVE taking walks on the beach. We've vacationed all around Floribamas gulf coasts. We particularly love the Clearwater area (Madeira, Belleair, Indian Shores). We've also hit Orange Beach and Gulf Shores a bunch. One gulf beach area we have not experienced are Texas beaches. In fact, never even been to Texas. Well, it's time to explore that area as an option. We are in the process of planning a Corpus Christi (Port Aransas/Mustang Island) trip to see what Texas beaches and retirement home prices are like. Kids are excited about riding horses on the beach. We are excited because it seems like you can get more for your money in Texas closer to the beach than you can in Florida. Would love any input you all have to offer that have experience with this area.
