Bacon grease works better than anything when it comes to cooking fried eggs and pancakes! 2lbs of oven cooked bacon will result in over 8oz of grease!!

For ease of cleanup, anyway.

I guess my Weber is for hamburgers and brats/hot dogs? Tonight I pan/oven cooked some 12 oz NY Strips using same method as the Filet Mignon. Best NY Strip I've had in quite awhile. I considered cooking them on the grill, if I did, they would not have been as tender. The rosemary spice was not as obvious as with the thicker filet mignon, but these steaks were killer. I paid a little more per pound cause I bought them at Hyvee on a whim. In the future I will gravitate to Sams Club Filets, and I'm gonna try Sam's Ribeyes next just for kicks.

Whiskey cream sauce on steaks? I'm interested intrigued by the thought of it.

"If you want to indulge your senses, there's nothing like steak served with a creamy sauce. Whiskey cream sauce elevates the smoky flavor of beef into something special. No need to worry about your cooking skills; this sauce is straightforward. It's quick to make on a busy weeknight but could also be served at the fanciest dinner party."

We do oven cooked pork chops with a whiskey cream sauce. Have not thought of it with steak. I'm all about a cab reduction on steak.
