Taking the family on vacations to waterfalls and BIG holes in the ground.  One thing they all share in common?!  It's hard to get a meal anywhere because all the restaurants cannot find employees to work!  We've walked into several restaurants from New York to Arizona that look like ghost towns.  There's no cars in the parking lot!  They all tell us it is an hour or more wait.  Our best bet had been to seek out local establishments that are family run with loyal employees (no teeny boppers) running the place.  Mom and Pop establishments are best!!  Anybody else experienced this scenario?!  Crazy.....

Just abut every restaurant I go to here has a help wanted sign in the window... never saw anything like it.
But, I haven't seen slow service so the shortage must not be too severe..

Most restaurants and retail places around here are closing early because they can’t find people. It’s absurd. Those Biden-bux are worth less by the day.

Just went to a restaurant in Port Clinton OH I have been to many times over many years and its always been very good food and service. The service and food sucked and it looked like there may have been only 4 or 5 people on staff including the chef.

Went to a diner forum here today. 30% the tables appeared empty and there was a 35 minute wait. Got my order in and it took at least 25 to 30 minutes to get served.

Both places had help wanted signs.

One thing too is that some businesses in vacation destinations usually fill staff positions with European hb1 visa holders. Thats why we are seeing a lot of help wanted at restaurants and amusement parks limiting hours and days open.

"Morton understands why people might quit. After waiting to be seated, customers arrive at their tables "already angry, already wanting to complain about things," he said. A few weeks ago one employee started to cry because a customer was so mean to her."

One thing I won't do is be a jerk. I'd never wanna work as a server cause folks are so nasty!

Local family run Mexican food place is closed three days a week now because staffing issues, they openly admit they are doing so because of finding people to work.    They don't want to raise their prices but have said that the rates people are demanding is going to force a 20+ increase in prices to make things work.   It's a lose lose for them.

My local Chinese place is fully staffed... overstaffed in my book.
Probably all family/friends since they're all Asian or mostly. I've seen a white guy and girl working there taking orders and answering phones..
Dinky place but there's always about eight in the kitchen which you can see into.

My favorite Chinese place still hasn't started delivering again. I'm heartbroken but in all reality probably 20lbs lighter because of it. Smile
