MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
#1
I filled up on too much prime rib yesterday.  And I'm going to sous vide a ham today, along with making waffle fries. The wife got me a little thing to add smoke to a whiskey glass, and I'm itching to give that a shot.

Feeling blessed. Hope y'all are enjoying your holiday and getting the rest you need!  It's gorgeous here - may sneak out for a bike ride later.

Merry Xmas ya filthy animals.

My holiday schedule is rather fecked this year. Wife and I woke up to empty house for the first time in 20 years. Doing dinner with my Fam tonight, tomorrow I'm hosting brunch and gift exchange with my in-laws. Rather bored so I'm bottling up hot sauce I fermented and drinking mimosas.

Hope ya'll have the best with friends and Fam.

Niece wanted to come to town and see my mom ( her grandma) and also some friend's baby... so she took a test on Wednesday and was negative.
Yesterday she showed up at my sisters and hung around for a while before getting a text from a friend back home who said she tested positive ( niece and her friend were somewhere together 5 days earlier).
Niece goes to urgent care here and gets tested... positive.
Now, my sister and husband were exposed so they have to wait 4 days or so for a reliable test so I get caregiving duties until we either know she's negative or quarantines for a while if positive..
Christmas cancelled!

Weeeeelllll shit.

That blows. My sister was supposed to host my parents in Cincinnati this weekend, but my BIL tested positive yesterday, so parents spent it alone instead.

Getting real tired of your shit, chinavirus.

Merry Christmas a day late to one and all.
We did the family thing Christmas eve and SWMBO and I sat around and recovered yesterday. A great Christmas. GarynConcord JR couldn't make it, wasn't going to fly across country right now. Had the rest of the kids present though. Jr's flying in, in March which is when one daughter is expecting to produce a new granddaughter. The other daughter officially announced she's preggers with twins, supposed to show up August. Great expectations for 2022.

Not traveling this weekend appears to have been the correct smart play. A lot of folks seem to be stranded or heavily inconvenienced.

1500 flights cancelled Sunday if I heard correctly.

December 26th was the greatest day of my life. The 27th isn't bad either, but it's one day closer to next Christmas.

Still, Merry Christmas guys. Crashed home from the inlaws yesterday (MIL is undergoing chemo and immunocompromised, but screw it, right? Crazy) and watched the 4th Matrix. I uhh ... something was lost in the "translation." The movie probably makes more sense to 12 year olds.
