Evap solenoid

Friday, we are heading to Florida to spend a 10 days at the Christmas Tree farm.
My stupid evap solenoid is throwing an error. 
I couldn't get my meat hooks to remove the clamp.
My solution?
Do the right thing and ignore it. 
I plugged the new one in, leave the hose connected to the old one.
Feck it , it turned the error code off. 

I've got a couple thousand miles to drive and I simply can't find a way to deal with it properly right now.

Na I don't think it hurts anything.
I'll be careful with the cap.
I just didn't want my idiot light on the entire trip.
I love long trips in the c6.
She's a serious touring beast.
