RIP WSM

I wore out my smoker.  Replacement parts are stupid expensive. The dainty water pan (that never had water in it) rusted out - just a few cents under $90 to replace it and it needed a lot more.

So I ordered an Okie Joe offset.  I hated the last offset I had  (hot by the firebox and cold on the other end) but was unaware at the time of the mods available.  I have a few things on the way but could use some pointers if ya'll have some.

That's pretty exciting. I think our Genesis will be the next thing to go. The lid is starting to rust through, outer painted layer separating from inside layer. Other than that it's been pretty solid as a grill. The BGE keeps on trucking, but I've had a crack in the firebox for years. I only notice once a year when I take it apart to clean it out.

My ok Joe was beast. Nice and thick metal.
Weighed a ton.
Now I'm just pellets on a pit boss.
So dang easy and 90% as good smoke flavor.

Lou call up Weber and bitch them out. I sent them pics of my rusted top and they sent me a new one in 2 days. It is rusting now, but it bought me some time!!!
