My boy learned to snowboard a couple of years back. Since he was brand new, I got him a used burton board with bindings and boots as a package deal at a deep discount; it used to be a rental set I assume, and it served him well. He's simply outgrown it. He's only 12, and so whatever he gets next still wouldn't be a final adult-sized board, and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the lower end brands like Flow, 5th Element, Camp 7, etc. I don't want to buy him garbage, and it's hard to know which anonymous glowing reviews can be trusted anymore. But I also think it would be dumb to shell out 7 or 8 hundo when the kid is still very much a beginner/novice. I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a Flow package on Amazon, but wanted to hear if anyone knows the deal with them or has any war stories.
