Covid Vaccine

I know how you feel. The last 2 weeks of the year were a monster. I was putting in 70+ hour weeks and working the floor because over a 1/3 of my Dept's staff were out. We almost had to close the smaller jail just to staff the main one. I've been in corrections for over 25 years and this is the worst things have even been.

The nursing home industry is burning down. Regulators haven't given an inch on staffing and covid requirements, which means you cannot have functional nursing homes right now. There's no place to put these people, so anyone still at their posts are damned heroes. But its not enough. Wife's company is being hit with millions in fines because of masking violations, vaccination violations, and not having enough staff per beds. Yesterday she was asked to resign. I think it's a good move. It's been a non-stop, high stress battle all through covid. But omicron was just too much.

Damn. Hope she finds something else soon before she decides you need to paint the house or something.

Worse, she'll try to do it herself and i'll have twice the work.

DO NOT RESIGN. She won't qualify for unemployment benefits.

Too late, bruh. I hear you, believe me. But this company has some aversion to firing people, especially severance. So what they do if you wont play ball is pin a bunch of shit to your license, which cripples your ability to work in the industry. It's gonna hurt in so many ways. Emotional devastation, loss of income, and the wife is the worst at domestic stuff. But, at least ... fuck.

Terrible what is being done to front line workers. They give love and dedication and they get crapped on. It ain't right. Prayers that she finds peace and that she knows how much of a blessing she has been.

All the folks we know testing positive are triple vaxxed. Folks that wear 7 masks and that caliber stuff. I'm wondering if they are more susceptible or just more test crazy.

Did they threaten her license? I'd file anyways and bring that shit up.
